Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Does acupuncture hurt?

A. Acupuncture can be performed with little or no discomfort to the patient. Many people don't even feel the needle insertion at all. If anything is felt, most people describe the sensation like a "mosquito-bite".

Q. Do you re-use needles? Will I get an infection?

A. We use only single-use acupuncture needles, as is standard practice in Canada, US, and many other countries. Infection is extremely rare, and only occurs with poor practice standards. Our practitioners hold high standards with this regard.

Q. How long is a typical treatment?

A. A typical acupuncture visit lasts anywhere from 20 - 45 minutes, depending on the condition of the patient, as well as the objective.

Q. Do you offer 1/2 hour and 1 hour visits?

A. No. Each treatment is performed until a desired result or effect is achieved. A time constraint cannot be put on this. In fact, some people can be overstimulated if too much is done, resulting in temporary fatigue, mental fogginess, and body aches. For most people, treatments are within 45 minutes.

Q. Does my insurance cover treatments? Do you direct bill?

A. We are pleased to offer direct billing to most insurers. Please check with us if you have any questions.
