Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Services

Acupuncture

BKGPic 1

Single-use acupuncture needles are inserted beneath the skin to generate a therapeutic effect. The needles are very thin and are grouped as a point-prescription to accomplish the desired health benefit. The sensation is seldom uncomfortable, and most people find the sensation to be quite pleasant. Acupuncture is used for many conditions including (but not limited to) pain syndromes, allergies, and stress management.

Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine

BKGPic 3

At Ask For Acupuncture, we prescribe only the highest quality herbal formulae to ensure efficacy and safety. Herbal medicine is often used to benefit the internal body in conditions such as (but not limited to) digestive disorders or menopausal complaints.

Qigong / Tai Chi (Exercise therapy)

BKGPic 5

Deeply rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tai Chi and Qigong are used as prescribed exercises to expand wellness and rehabilitate old injuries. These exercises are learned in an individual or group setting. Great for calming the mind, alleviating stress, strengthening muscles, enhancing the nervous system, benefitting digestion... the list goes on.

Tui Na (Chinese Therapeutic Massage)

BKGPic 4

Tui Na utilizes many physical techniques to restore functioning to diseased body areas. It is a type of body-work that increases blood circulation, realigns ligaments, alleviates tension, and more. Many structural or anatomical disorders can be effectively treated using Tui Na. It is also very useful in internal medicine problems.

Cupping

BKGPic 2

Although utilized by other professions, cupping is originally from Traditional Chinese Medicine. Cupping therapy has wide-ranging positive effects on the body as it can reach the deepest body-tissues. Toxins are released, blood flow is increased, and tissues are healed. There are many methods of cupping, and besides muscle-tension other conditions like (not limited to) asthma, anxiety, and the common-cold can be effectively treated.

Zero Balancing

ZB2

Pioneered by Dr. Fritz Smith in the early 1970's, Zero Balancing (ZB) is a whole-body approach to expanding wellness. It is a gentle form of body-work that provides long-lasting health benefits. Although ZB is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is included in our Other Services category because it is not entirely of those roots. Nevertheless, Zero Balancing is a very effective therapy to restore body-functioning and alleviate stress.
